How Basketball Originated

Basketball originated in 1891 when a man named James Naismith was assigned to teach a physical education class at a young men's christian association training school in Springfeild, Massachusetts. The class was known for being disorderly, and Naismith was told to invent a knew game to keep the boys occupied. Since it was winter and cold outside and indoor sport was desirable. He got the game idea from his childhood when they placed a bolder on pavement and got smaller rocks and tried to hit thee target. He original idea was to nail to boxes up and try to throw the ball into the basket but, after struggling to fin to boxes he ended using peach baskets!
